DON’T:

Feel pressured to stay for the whole duration or stress about arriving exactly on time.

DO:

Get a good look at lots of different kinds of clubs! Brown offers a truly awesome variety of extracurriculars that vary in time commitment, intensity, student background, etc. From Brown Democrats to Brown Donut Club to the Poler Bears (Brown’s Pole Dancing Team), clubs here range from silly to serious and everywhere in between.

DON’T:

Visit every single club’s booth. TMI.

DO:

Take down information for clubs you might only be a little interested in. Writing them down on your phone or getting contact info for club leadership might be a good idea!

DON’T:

Put your email on all the listservs, especially for the clubs you might only be a slightly interested in. You will receive WAY too many emails. It is much easier to simply note the names of clubs you might want to join and get on their list servs later.

DO:

Ask questions!

DON’T:

Prevent other people from asking theirs by being a club hog.

DO:

Get excited about extracurricular life at Brown!

DON’T:

Get overwhelmed. None of this is a requirement. Life at Brown is for you to design, and your life outside class should really reflect that.

DO:

Come visit the Blognonian at our table and think about joining the ranks!
