Join Swearer Center’s student group SEADD, or Self Expression for Adults with Developmental Disabilities!

SEADD strives to create a space where adults with developmental disabilities and students can explore creative writing together. We work to promote greater awareness of disability rights in our community. Apply here.

Event: RI Coalition for Reproductive Freedom Press Launch & Lobby Day.

Location: 82 Smith St.

Time: 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Join us at the Senate Lounge in the Rhode Island State House to celebrate the growing power of the reproductive freedom movement in Rhode Island, and sharing our legislative priorities for 2018.

Wednesday, February 7

Event: Sign up for Datamatch!!!

Location: Brown University

Time: 12:00 a.m.

Datamatch is coming to Brown! Blognonian has partnered with the Harvard Computer Society to give you a chance to find true love right here on College Hill. All you need to do is enter some information, fill out a (hilarious, in our opinion) survey, and wait for your Datamatch!

The survey will open February 7th at midnight and close at 11:59 p.m. on February 13th. Matches will be shared the morning of the 14th (Valentine’s Day) at 7 a.m. Participants will receive their match’s name and contact information and can proceed from there as they wish.

Event: Memory of Slavery and Reparations in Brazil.

Location: The Brazil Initiative at Brown.

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Over the last two decades, like other former slave societies, Brazil witnessed the rise of several initiatives memorializing slavery in the public space. Although the construction of monuments and memorials, and the organization of commemorative activities associated with the slave past can be considered as a form of symbolic reparations for slavery and the Atlantic slave trade, since the emergence of the abolitionist movement some social actors have emphasized the need of material and financial reparations to former slaves and their descendants.

Event: Singing Communities Weekend with Joey Weisenberg.

Location: Hillel

Time: 3:30 p.m.

Create a Singing Community at Brown RISD Hillel. We’ll explore wordless melodies focused on communal interaction and group dynamics in singing. The schedule includes many aspects of the communal Jewish music experience.

No prior singing, music, or Jewish experience necessary. Open to anyone who is interested in singing, making music together, celebrating Shabbat, or just being a part of this experience!
